The camera can be freely positioned within the module and serves as an intelligent and universal sensor with an integrated controller for optical quality assurance. In addition to the LEDs integrated in the camera, two separate area lights are available for illuminating the workpiece to be evaluated. Their position is variable and they can be switched on in different modes depending on the scenario.
In particular, the freely positionable camera position allows numerous different teaching and learning situations, whether focusing on an entire workpiece or highlighting individual partial areas. In conjunction with the "Machine Learning Vision" basic package, the module serves as a realistic application scenario for a practice-oriented introduction to machine learning (ML), with which ML techniques and paradigms can be trained and evaluated in an industry-oriented environment.
