Function

The combination of optical transmitters and receivers at MPS stations enables 1-bit communication with the Robotino. Optical sensors are mounted on universal brackets. A bracket with an optical receiver is attached to the pick-up station and a bracket with an optical transmitter is attached to the following station.
Optical sensors are also installed as standard on the gripper of the Robotino for communication with the stations.
The pick-up station receives a signal from Robotino when it is ready. The Robotino drives and grips a workpiece/carton. The next station reports a signal when it is ready.
A workpiece/carton is delivered from the Robotino to the next station for further transport.

Assembly
Pick-up station

  • Mount the bracket with optical receiver (8075665 R) centrally under the MPS belt. Do not overtighten the screws for mounting with the MPS profile plate. The bracket should be easily adjustable.
  • Push the Robotino to the station so that the gripper is centered above the belt and the roller lever switches are actuated.
  • Move the bracket so that the optical receiver of the pickup station and the optical transmitter (8075665 E) on the Robotino are parallel.
  • You can now tighten the bracket screws.

Downstream station
  • Mount the bracket with optical transmitter (8075665 E) centrally under the MPS tape. Do not overtighten the screws for mounting with the MPS profile plate. The bracket should be easily adjustable.
  • Push the Robotino to the station so that the gripper is centered on the belt and the distance to the Robotino is approx. 50 cm.
  • Move the bracket so that the optical transmitter (8075665 E) at the MPS station is aligned with the optical receiver of the Robotino.
